UNESCO “Centre of Excellence” in Journalism Education

UNESCO has designated the Department of Mass Comm, University of Lagos, as a potential “Centre of Excellence” for capacity building in Journalism Education. One consequence of this is that aspiring journalists/ Mass Comm students can be effectively trained using an internationally recognized model for Journalism training. In other words, students will be exposed to the practice of their profession using the newest tools / technologies, thus preparing them for the real world of journalism.
As an observer, what do you expect to achieve with this new model? How will it influence your career as an individual?
